Neal Schultze
July 15, 2026
Neal Allen Schultze, 74, of Littleton, Colo., passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of family after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease and congestive heart failure.
Neal was born on Nov. 6, 1951, in Lake City to Herbert and Hazel Schultze. He grew up in southeastern Minnesota and carried with him throughout life the values of hard work, faith, humility and devotion to family.
After graduating from high school, Neal attended Mankato College, now Minnesota State University-Mankato. He spent his career in construction management, where his hard work, integrity and quiet leadership earned him the respect of those who worked alongside him.
Neal’s greatest joy came from the people he loved. He was a father, grandfather, husband, partner, brother and friend who cared deeply for those closest to him. Neal also loved his loyal dog, Bailey, whose companionship brought comfort and great happiness throughout his later years.
More than anything, Neal loved being a grandpa. His grandchildren, Isabelle and Dylan, brought him immense joy. His face would light up whenever they were near and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Neal loved sports and rarely passed up the opportunity to attend a game. Some of his happiest moments were spent cheering on his favorite teams and sharing those experiences with his wife, children and friends. He was also an avid golfer and proudly achieved every golfer’s dream — a hole-in-one — a story he enjoyed telling for years afterward.
A special part of Neal’s later life was the time he shared with his partner, Kay. Together they enjoyed adventures both big and small, from trips to Alaska and concerts to quiet days spent with family, friends and Bailey. Through every season, Kay was a constant source of companionship, strength and love, and the family is deeply grateful for the love, care and comfort she brought to Neal’s life.
Neal is survived by his children, Catherine Jenkins and Christopher Schultze; grandchildren, Isabelle and Dylan; beloved partner, Kay; former wife, Barbara Schultze; brother, Darrell Schultze and wife Linda; sister, Katie Senne and husband Dean; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Hazel Schultze.
Neal will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill in Colorado. A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (http://act.alz.org/goto/nealschultze) in Neal’s memory.
The family invites friends and loved ones to share photos, stories and memories as they celebrate a life well lived.
