Independent School District #458 Board Meeting

March 18, 2024 5:30 PM

I. Call to Order: 5:35

Roll Call: Present — (7:08) Mike Pfeil, Kenna Krahmer, Maria Haler, Paula Heckman, James Farnum and Jeff Nauman

Staff present: Lisa Shellum, James Utermarck, and Eva Sonnabend.

II. Approval of Agenda:

Motioned by Heckman and seconded by Haler to approve/amend the March 18, 2024 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.

III. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:

Motioned by Heckman and seconded by Farnum to approve the February 20, 2024 regular minutes. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.

IV. Presentation of Bills/Finance (consent agenda)

Motioned by Haler and seconded by Nauman to approve the March 2024 bills as presented in check register and wire transfer information. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.

V. Presentation by Site Logic - TPS Building Upgrade/ Project Summary

VI. Committees:

A. Buildings and Grounds -Information on insurance claim status - steam traps/tunnel. Set dates for board workshop(s) to go over the timeline and project selection. Board workshop date set for April 10, 2024 at 5:00 PM.

B. Negotiations Committee - meeting updates

C. Sports Committee meeting-March 19, 2024 in Truman

D. Mike Pfeil reported on MSBA Day at the Capital and legislative update.

VII. Information Items

A. Enrollment

B. Kindergarten Round-up and Preschool Screening being held on April 24th starting at 5:30 PM.

C. MCA testing begins the week of April 15th through May 10th

D. Spring Fling May 8, 2024 - Spring Concert / Book Fair / Art Show

VIII. Action Items

A. Integration Budget 2024-2025

A motion was offered by Farnum, seconded by Nauman to approve the Integration budget for 2024-2025 for $23,456.67. Motion passed on a 6-0 vote.

B. Spring Coaches

A motion was offered by Farnum, seconded by Krahmer, to approve the list of spring coaching assignments as presented for the spring 2024 sports with GHEC, Martin Luther, and Madelia. Motion passed on a 6-0 vote.

C. Resignations

A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Krahmer, to approve the resignation of Danielle Hall (paraprofessional). Motion passed on a 6-0 vote.

D. Contract

A motion was offered by Krahmer, seconded by Farnum, to approve change of Allison Greier contract from .60 FTE to 1.0 FTE from March 12, 2024 to May 31, 2024. Motion passed on a 6-0 vote.

IX. Reports

A. Superintendent/Principal: MDE food service audit and purchase of new warmer for food service.

X. Adjournment

Motioned by Farnum, and seconded by Nauman to adjourn at 7:46. Motion passed on a 6-0 vote.

Motioned by Krahmer and seconded by Farnum to approve/amend the March 18, 2024 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.
